Devlog:Working With...
September 30, 2026
Since about year three, I've prioritized writing documentation, and that seems to be a never ending effort of its own. I wrote the Getting Started section quite some time ago and have long felt that the docs needed a followup to that section before dumping users into the Author's Manual. In fact, I had once stubbed in a bunch of docs organized systematically by asset class, but never found a compelling need for them, and eventually scrubbed them. This time, I approached it from a different perspective: what are the main elements that an author is likely to want to move on to after completing Getting Started? And so Working With... was born. I stubbed in about two dozen pages right away and within a few days had knocked out the first half dozen. I like to hope that comprehensive and accessible documentation will be one of the things that sets AdventureJS apart from other systems.
